Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: July 16, 2026

Solace is built around a simple principle: process only what is needed to provide the experience, make storage optional where possible, and never store your microphone audio.

1. Who operates Solace

Solace is an independent project created and operated by Debajyoti Saikia. Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact form at deb0.com.

2. Information Solace processes

Account and authentication

Firebase Authentication processes your account identifier, email address, email-verification status, sign-in provider, authentication tokens, and server-managed entitlement status. Solace never receives your account password in readable form.

Preferences

Solace stores choices needed to personalize the product, such as companion name, selected voice and mode, consent acknowledgements, text-retention preference, interruption settings, and notification preferences.

Live voice sessions

Microphone audio is transmitted over encrypted connections to the Solace backend and Google Vertex AI for real-time processing and audio generation. Solace does not record or persist microphone or generated audio. Voice data necessarily exists transiently in memory and network buffers while a live session is active.

Optional text transcripts

Conversation text is saved only when you choose Save or enable automatic text retention. Saved transcripts can include message text and timestamps. You can export or permanently delete all saved transcripts from Settings.

Operational and safety data

Hosting and cloud providers may process technical data such as IP address, request time, device/browser information, authentication events, error records, and security logs. Solace also evaluates submitted text for crisis-related language so it can show direct emergency and hotline resources.

3. How information is used

  • Provide, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
  • Authenticate users and keep each account’s data isolated.
  • Personalize modes, voices, preferences, and saved history.
  • Generate and stream real-time AI voice responses.
  • Detect crisis-related language and surface safety resources.
  • Prevent abuse, enforce limits, and maintain reliability.

Solace does not sell personal information and does not use it for third-party targeted advertising.

4. Service providers

Solace currently relies on:

  • Google Firebase for authentication, hosting, and account-scoped data storage.
  • Google Cloud Platform for Cloud Run application hosting, Firestore, logging, security, and operations.
  • Google Vertex AI for Gemini Live native-audio processing and response generation.

These providers process data under their own terms, privacy notices, security controls, and retention practices. Solace uses paid Vertex AI service access rather than a consumer free-tier AI endpoint.

5. Storage and retention

Account preferences remain while your account is active. Optional transcripts remain until you delete them or the account/service is closed. Audio is not stored by Solace. Cloud security and operational logs may be retained for limited periods according to provider configuration and legal/security requirements.

6. Your choices

  • Leave transcript retention off and save nothing.
  • Save individual conversations manually.
  • Export saved conversations as JSON.
  • Delete all saved conversations from Settings.
  • Mute the microphone, pause, or end a live session at any time.
  • Request account-related assistance through deb0.com.

7. Security

Solace uses HTTPS/WSS transport encryption, verified Firebase ID tokens, server-side authorization, account-scoped data access, and managed Google Cloud security controls. No service can guarantee absolute security; protect your account credentials and report any suspected misuse.

8. Adults only and sensitive information

Solace is intended for people aged 18 or older. Do not provide highly sensitive identifiers, financial credentials, medical records, or secrets through conversation. Solace is not a confidential medical, legal, or professional service.

9. International processing

Cloud providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Their contractual and technical safeguards govern those transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may change as Solace evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date on this page. Continued use after a change means the revised policy applies to future use.
